1 The LORD is my light and my salvation—
    whom shall I fear?
    The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
    of whom shall I be afraid?
  2 When the wicked advance against me
    to devour me,
    it is my enemies and my foes
    who will stumble and fall.
  3 Though an army besiege me,
    my heart will not fear;
    though war break out against me,
    even then I will be confident.
  4 One thing I ask from the LORD,
    this only do I seek:
    that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
    all the days of my life,
    to gaze on the beauty of the LORD
    and to seek him in his temple.
  5 For in the day of trouble
    he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
    he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle
    and set me high upon a rock.
  6 Then my head will be exalted
    above the enemies who surround me;
    at his tabernacle I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
    I will sing and make music to the LORD.
  7 Hear my voice when I call, LORD;
    be merciful to me and answer me.
  8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!“
    Your face, LORD, I will seek.
  9 Do not hide your face from me,
    do not turn your servant away in anger;
    you have been my helper.
    Do not reject me or forsake me,
    God my Savior.
  10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
    the LORD will receive me.
  11 Teach me your way, LORD;
    lead me in a straight path
    because of my oppressors.
  12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
    for false witnesses rise up against me,
    spouting malicious accusations.
  13 I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the LORD
    in the land of the living.
  14 Wait for the LORD;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the LORD.

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
  2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
    he leads me beside quiet waters,
  3 he refreshes my soul.
    He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
  4 Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,
    I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.
  5 You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
    You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
  6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
    all the days of my life,
    and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
    forever.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
  2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they display knowledge.
  3 They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.
  4 Yet their voice <b> goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.
    In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,
  5 which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
    like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
  6 It rises at one end of the heavens
    and makes its circuit to the other;
    nothing is deprived of its warmth.
  7 The law of the LORD is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
    The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
  8 The precepts of the LORD are right,
    giving joy to the heart.
    The commands of the LORD are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
  9 The fear of the LORD is pure,
    enduring forever.
    The ordinances of the LORD are sure,
    and all of them are righteous.
  10 They are more precious than gold,
    than much pure gold;
    they are sweeter than honey,
    than honey from the honeycomb.
  11 By them your servant is warned;
    in keeping them there is great reward.
  12 But who can discern their own errors?
    Forgive my hidden faults.
  13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
    may they not rule over me.
    Then I will be blameless,
    innocent of great transgression.
  14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
    be pleasing in your sight,
    LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

1 Fools say in their hearts,
    “There is no God.“
    They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
    there is no one who does good.
  2 The LORD looks down from heaven
    on the human race
    to see if there are any who understand,
    any who seek God.
  3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt;
    there is no one who does good,
    not even one.
  4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?
    They devour my people as though eating bread;
    they never call on the LORD.
  5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
    for God is present in the company of the righteous.
  6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor,
    but the LORD is their refuge.
  7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
    When the LORD restores his people,
    let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

1 LORD, our Lord,
    how majestic is your name in all the earth!
    You have set your glory
    above the heavens.
  2 Through the praise of children and infants
    you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
    to silence the foe and the avenger.
  3 When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
    the moon and the stars,
    which you have set in place,
  4 what are mere mortals that you are mindful of them,
    human beings that you care for them?
  5 You have made them a little lower than the heavenly beings
    and crowned them with glory and honor.
  6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
    you put everything under their feet:
  7 all flocks and herds,
    and the animals of the wild,
  8 the birds in the sky,
    and the fish in the sea,
    all that swim the paths of the seas.
  9 LORD, our Lord,
    how majestic is your name in all the earth!

1 Why do the nations conspire
    and the peoples plot in vain?
  2 The kings of the earth rise up
    and the rulers band together
    against the LORD and against his anointed, saying,
  3 “Let us break their chains
    and throw off their shackles.“
  4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
    the Lord scoffs at them.
  5 He rebukes them in his anger
    and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
  6 “I have installed my king
    on Zion, my holy mountain.“
  7 I will proclaim the LORD’s decree:
    He said to me, “You are my son;
    today I have become your father.
  8 Ask me,
    and I will make the nations your inheritance,
    the ends of the earth your possession.
  9 You will break them with a rod of iron;
    you will dash them to pieces like pottery.“
  10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
    be warned, you rulers of the earth.
  11 Serve the LORD with fear
    and celebrate his rule with trembling.
  12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry
    and you and your ways will be destroyed,
    for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

1 Blessed are those
    who do not walk in step with the wicked
    or stand in the way that sinners take
    or sit in the company of mockers,
  2 but who delight in the law of the LORD
    and meditate on his law day and night.
  3 They are like a tree planted by streams of water,
    which yields its fruit in season
    and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.
  4 Not so the wicked!
    They are like chaff
    that the wind blows away.
  5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
    nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
  6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
    but the way of the wicked will be destroyed.

1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 My Father’s house has plenty of room; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.“ 
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?“ 
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.“ 
8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.
9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, all who have faith in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. Anyone who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.“
